Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, explained that the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his annual opening of the conference is a source of pride and a positive message for global investment about the state’s support for investments in the Egyptian energy sector, noting that the conference kicks off this year in a new dress to transform from a petroleum conference into a comprehensive energy platform that discusses and reviews all challenges and solutions for achieving energy transition and lowering carbon emissions from energy production and consumption.

Al-Mulla added that the conference aims to emphasize the importance and necessity of balancing between the transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources, and securing their supplies in more responsible and environmentally friendly ways to maintain economic growth and meet the needs of peoples, which is achieved through the commitment of the oil and gas industry to apply technologies to reduce carbon emissions in parallel with the development of green and renewable energies, especially hydrogen.

Eng. Ibrahim Masoud also met with some of the leaders participating in the EGYPS exhibition.

The current session’s activities will take place at the Egypt International Convention and Exhibition Center in New Cairo from February 19 to 21, 2024, under the slogan “Energy Catalyzing: Securing Supply, Energy Transition, and Reducing Emissions.”
