NEOM water transmission contract receives nine bids

Nine contractors submitted bids for the design-and-build contract of a water transmission project that will connect the desalination plant in Oxagon to the town of Gayal in Tabuk, according to MEED.

The 100-kilometer water transmission pipeline has a 2-meter diameter.

Al-Rashid Trading & Contracting Co., Saudi Al-Ayuni Investment & Contracting Co., Al-Yamama Co., Nesma Group, and Saudi Services for Electromechanic Works are among the bidders, according to MEED.

Other bidders include the CAT group of Lebanon, Enppi of Egypt, Sinopec of China, and Power China of China.

This plan is one of almost a dozen water infrastructure projects for NEOM with a total projected cost of about $2 billion.

According to MEED, the scope of work entails the construction of a pumping station, storage tanks, and water tunnels.

The 48 sq. km., the eight-sided industrial metropolis is now under construction.

The Gulf of Aqaba, NEOM Bay, The Line’s Spine, NEOM Mountain Jabal al-Lauz and NEOM Zero are just a few of the areas that are expected to undergo development as part of NEOM.
