Dubai Expected to Announce Jebel Ali Wastewater Treatment Plant Contract Award in Q2

Dubai is anticipated to assign the Jebel Ali sewage treatment facility’s contract within this year’s second quarter.

The Sewerage and Recycled Water Projects Department of Dubai Municipality is on the verge of completing the consultancy agreement for the Jebel Ali Sewage Treatment Plant’s (Phase 3) Extension.

Zawya was informed by a credible informant that the Proposal Request was distributed on January 22, 2024, and the deadline for bid submission is set for April 22, 2024.

The consultancy service contract, which includes study, initial design, and oversight of construction, is expected to be awarded by the beginning of June 2024.

This project encompasses an extensive range of tasks, such as evaluating current problems from the initial two phases, suggesting corrective actions, assessing Phosphorus-Removal capabilities, and compiling reports on the water flow at entry and exit points as well as water quality.

The consultancy will also handle the initial design, the creation of tender documents, EPC prequalification, cost projection, and the preparation of PPP tender documents and contracts.

Completion of the entire project is foreseen by the last quarter of 2026, with a projected budget of $120 million, according to the source knowledgeable about the project specifics.
