ABB initiates construction of a new calibration facility in the US to meet the increasing need for instrumentation in North America.

ABB has commenced the construction of a new 12,000-square-foot calibration hall at the industrial park near its existing approximately 200,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, USA.

This investment will enhance the company’s calibration capabilities, ensuring high levels of quality and precision for ABB’s complete range of flowmeters. Additionally, it will further expand the company’s “Made in America” product line.

Improved accuracy in flowmeter calibration enhances measurement performance, aiding industrial customers in achieving greater energy and resource efficiency.

Plant operators in the US, spanning sectors like chemical, oil & gas, battery, hydrogen, and power, will be able to precisely measure inflow and outflow, as well as raw and processed materials. This precision allows them to manage their processes more accurately and efficiently.

“With today’s groundbreaking, we are taking steps to enhance our capacity to meet the increasing demand for instrumentation in the North American market,” stated Jacques Mulbert, President of ABB Measurement & Analytics. “Through this significant investment, we aim to expand and fortify our manufacturing presence in the US.”

The new calibration facility is set to commence operations in early 2025. Positioned at ABB’s Bartlesville factory, the site will leverage the factory’s history of innovation, dedication to quality, efficiency, and close proximity to customers.

As one of ABB’s key North American sites, the Bartlesville factory now serves as the consolidated manufacturing hub for North American instrumentation following a recent announcement by ABB.

The US remains ABB’s primary revenue-generating market, with this latest investment adding to the over $14 billion that ABB has invested in the US since 2010.
