Envision Energy has received the Notice to Proceed (NTP) from Neoen, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, for the supply and installation of turbines for Neoen’s 179MW Narrogin Wind Farm in Western Australia. The project marks an important milestone in Envision Energy’s strategic expansion in Australia.
The project will feature 23 Envision EN182-7.8 MW smart wind turbines, each with a 155-meter hub height and a 182-meter rotor diameter, making them the largest wind turbines ever installed in Australia. The turbines are designed to maximize energy production while reducing the levelized cost of electricity. They are expected to provide enough power for nearly 100,000 Western Australian homes annually and contribute approximately 3% of the annual electricity demand of Western Australia’s South West Interconnected System (SWIS).
Neoen’s Narrogin Wind Farm is Envision Energy’s second active Australian wind project awarded within the past 12 months, following the company’s entry into the Pilbara region with 17 EN-182/7.8MW wind turbines.
The project will also become Envision Energy’s first grid-connected wind farm for a client in Australia, connecting to Western Power’s existing 220kV transmission line into the South West Interconnected System (SWIS).
Envision will supply, deliver, install, and commission the wind turbines in partnership with UGL and CPB Contractors, members of the CIMIC Group. The company has also signed a 30-year Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Agreement with Neoen to provide long-term lifecycle support and maximize asset performance and reliability throughout the project’s operational life.
