The Saudi National Water Company Has Finalized 50 Projects in Water and Sanitation

Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) has reported the successful completion of 50 water and sanitation initiatives valued at over SAR 2.4 billion ($640 million) during the first half of 2026. This effort is part of the kingdom’s ongoing expansion of water infrastructure aligned with the Vision 2030 programme.

The state-owned utility indicated that these projects were executed across various regions to enhance access to water and wastewater services, boost operational efficiency, and fortify the nation’s water infrastructure. The initiative included 33 water projects costing more than SAR 1.1 billion and 17 sanitation initiatives worth SAR 1.3 billion.

The work involved the expansion of main lines and feeder networks throughout the country, resulting in over 1,360 km of new pipelines, comprising 883 km of water networks and 477 km of wastewater networks. This expansion has led to a 210,000 cubic metre increase in the operational water storage capacity of the kingdom.

NWC also noted that the projects enhanced the capacity of wastewater treatment facilities by 15,500 cubic metres per day and increased the capacity of pumping and lift stations by 307,000 cubic metres per day. The company emphasized that these efforts were conducted in accordance with its governance standards and in support of Vision 2030’s objectives to modernize infrastructure and enhance public services.
