Ayesa secures a €95 million water project contract in Saudi Arabia.

Ayesa, a prominent global technology and engineering solutions provider, has announced its landmark achievement of securing its largest-ever contract in Saudi Arabia, valued at 95 million euros.

The National Water Company (NWC), a significant player in the water industry, has selected the Andalusian company to offer consulting services for the planning of 190 state-of-the-art, sustainable water projects aimed at enhancing both the quantity and quality of the water resource.

This agreement forms part of NWC’s commitment to ensuring access to safe drinking water and efficient sanitation, with an anticipated investment of around 200 billion euros by 2030 in comprehensive water cycle infrastructure. This includes water treatment, sanitation processes, and the provision of potable water to the population.

Ayesa, a leading Spanish engineering firm, will be responsible for designing major hydraulic infrastructure in four regions of the country—south, west, northwest, and north.

This comprehensive plan encompasses the construction of multiple water storage tanks to improve water supply reliability, as well as the development of pumping stations, treatment plants, purification facilities, and extensive distribution networks.

The projected capital expenditure for these projects is approximately five billion euros.

Ayesa will not only oversee the design of these hydraulic projects but also provide environmental services such as Environmental Impact Assessment and Ecological assessments to the NWC during the bidding stage for the construction of the infrastructures.

Ayesa will employ cutting-edge technologies in water treatment, sustainable materials, and energy optimization measures.

José Ramón Delgado, Ayesa’s Country Manager in Saudi Arabia, emphasized the significance of the contract: “This agreement represents a historic milestone for the company, marking its largest contract in hydraulic works design to date. It presents an opportunity for transformative growth, positioning Ayesa as a global leader and leveraging the strengths and experience of our engineering hubs across various locations in Saudi Arabia, Spain, Ireland, Bahrain, and India. This major achievement establishes Ayesa as a leading provider of engineering and technology services in the Middle East.”
