Celepsa and Zelestra Sign a Long-term PPA That Will Allow the Construction of a New 238 MWdc Solar Project in Peru

Energy company Celepsa and renewable energy developer Zelestra have finalized a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 238 megawatt direct current (MWdc) solar power facility in Peru.

This new project enhances Zelestra’s growing portfolio in Peru, which now exceeds 530 MWdc.

The agreement guarantees a reliable supply of green energy for Celepsa’s operations in the region, supporting its sustainability goals. Celepsa will receive 450 gigawatt hours (GWh) of renewable electricity annually.

With the upcoming San Martín project, Zelestra’s presence in Peru continues to expand.

Zelestra Latam CEO José Luis García remarked, “This agreement demonstrates our strong commitment to collaborating strategically with our clients to provide customized solutions, as well as our dedication to the Peruvian market.

“We take pride in contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions in the country and fostering socio-economic growth through new projects and job creation.”

Zelestra views Peru as a vital market for its growth and is dedicated to supporting the nation’s transition to a more sustainable energy framework.

For Celepsa, which is also advancing its renewable initiatives, this agreement represents a significant milestone in its sustainable development strategy.

Celepsa general manager Eduardo Rivas stated, “This agreement strengthens our commitment to the energy transition and is a strategic move that enables us to create a diversified renewable portfolio for our clients.

“Alongside the solar energy purchase, the contract includes I-REC certificates, ensuring the renewable origin of the energy.”

In April 2025, Zelestra signed a firm and dispatchable renewable energy contract with SJVN to develop a 500 MW hybrid project in Solapur, Maharashtra, India.
