Japan’s Tsurumi Manufacturing Co Ltd has acquired the entire share capital of Zenit International SpA, the holding company of Italian wastewater treatment plant producer Zenit Group.
Tsurumi Manufacturing, a global leader in the production and distribution of electric pumps headquartered in Japan, has reported nearly €360 million in revenue for 2023 with this acquisition of Zenit’s share capital.
Zenit, located in San Cesario sul Panaro in Modena, Italy, has been active in the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) sector, achieving a consolidated turnover exceeding €40 million in 2023.
This transaction, which originated in 2018 as a commercial partnership and evolved into a strategic agreement with capital participation, will enable Zenit Group to enhance its investments in research and development, optimize and refurbish existing facilities, and expand into new operational areas.
Although the internal structure of the new corporate organization will remain unchanged, it will operate in key markets under its own brand, preserving its brand identity and following a pre-defined commercial and marketing strategy in collaboration with the new holding.
Tsurumi Manufacturing will also facilitate Zenit’s progress in managerial development, technical advancements, and commercial expansion. This agreement marks the start of a new era for both companies, fulfilling the strategic goals they have pursued together in recent years.
