Wilo UK has completed the acquisition of Arfon Rewinds Limited (trading as Arfon Engineering Services), expanding the company’s water management pump servicing capability.
This acquisition will enable Wilo UK to enhance its service offerings in crucial water management operations, including installation, repair, condition monitoring, and general pump maintenance.
Arfon operates two workshops, one for dirty water pumps in Bromborough and another for clean water pumps in Caernarfon, with a team of approximately 20 full-time engineers.
The company is a significant service and maintenance provider to industry in the North West of England, as well as to various water utility companies such as Welsh Water and United Utilities.
Arfon will continue to operate as a separate legal entity to support its existing customers and contracts, with Wilo UK having acquired 100% of shares and assets of Arfon.
Lee Tebbatt, Managing Director of Wilo UK, stated that the acquisition strengthens Wilo UK’s servicing capability and aligns with the growing customer focus on aftersales support and total cost of ownership. He emphasized that this move is a strategic step towards providing a comprehensive range of service capabilities across the installed pump base in the water utilities and industry sectors.
Furthermore, Mr. Tebbatt expressed his confidence in the acquisition’s potential for both companies, highlighting the opportunities to introduce the expanded offering to existing Wilo customers and to support and enable the Arfon business to serve their existing customers more effectively through added stability and selected investments.
Andy Martin, former Director at Arfon, will join the Wilo UK Management Team as Sales and Operations Director. He emphasized the shared markets, customers, and growth aspirations between Arfon and Wilo.
Peter Glauner, Senior Vice President Sales Region Mature Markets of the Wilo Group, expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, emphasizing its alignment with the company’s solution provider approach and its commitment to providing water cycle solutions.
