Vestas announces orders from Europe, Korea, and the US at the end of Q1

Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) revealed five wind turbine supply contracts last week to conclude the first quarter of the year.

Initially, the company announced a 37-MW order in Poland from a division of the ORLEN Group. Here, the customer, Energa Green Development, will utilize the equipment for the Szybowice project in Opolskie. Vestas will provide, transport, and start up 17 V110-2.0 MW wind turbines in 2.2 MW power mode and will maintain them through a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) agreement.

Turbine delivery is anticipated to commence in the third quarter of 2025, while commissioning is set for the fourth quarter of the same year. Subsequently, on Friday, Vestas disclosed an 88-MW order in Sweden, a 77-MW contract in South Korea, an 81-MW deal in Italy, and a 554-MW order in the US.

The Swedish project was granted by Eolus, which ordered seven V162-6.2 MW units delivered in power mode 6.4 MW, four V162-6.2 MW and four V150-4.5 MW wind turbines. Vestas will supply and start up these as part of the Fagelas, Boarp, and Dallebo projects, respectively.

The company anticipates commencing turbine deliveries under this order in the first quarter of 2025 and completing commissioning in the fourth quarter of the year. It will also maintain the turbines under a long-term AOM 5000 agreement.

In Korea, GS E&R has engaged Vestas for the supply and oversight of the installation of 18 of its V136-4.2 MW wind turbines delivered in 4.3 MW operating mode, as part of the YD1 wind farm in Gyeongsang-do. The equipment is set to be delivered next year with commissioning planned for 2026.

In Italy, Edison Rinnovabili has ordered the supply and installation of 18 V136-4.5 MW units for use in the repowering of the Roio del Sangro, Monteferrante Guado, Monteferrante Casone, and Montazzoli wind parks in Abruzzo next year. Vestas also secured a 10-year operation and maintenance service contract for those facilities.

Finally, the US order entails the delivery and commissioning of 123 V163-4.5 MW turbines and their maintenance under a multi-year AOM 5000 agreement. However, Vestas did not reveal the client or project names. Turbine delivery is planned to commence in the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
