Thames Water has established a Technical Partner Framework to aid in the implementation of its Strategic Resource Options (SRO) Programme.
In this recent procurement process, Thames Water sought partners with a proven track record in developing and supporting large, intricate infrastructure projects within the current UK planning landscape.
The Technical Partner Framework has been granted to three consortia:
– Arup & Binnies
– AtkinsRéalis & Stantec
– Jacobs & Mott MacDonald
The company foresees a need for an additional billion liters of water per day across London and the Thames Valley to meet customer demands over the next 50 years.
This framework will facilitate the collaborative efforts necessary to deliver crucial infrastructure projects essential for addressing future water scarcity challenges, such as those posed by climate change and population growth.
Mohit Farmah, Head of Procurement and Supply Chain for Thames Water’s Strategic Resource Options Directorate, highlighted the successful conclusion of this framework procurement, stating: “This Framework Agreement represents a significant advancement for our Strategic Resource Options Programme. We are now poised to collaborate with our technical partners to drive the development of innovative solutions that safeguard the environment, benefit our customers, and ensure a sustainable water supply to enhance drought resilience.”
