Kurita America, a division of the Kurita Group, which is a prominent global supplier of industrial water treatment solutions, has announced a partnership with Solugen, a manufacturer of bio-based chemicals, to create a range of new carbon-negative water treatment products.
These groundbreaking solutions will provide high-performance, bio-based alternatives to phosphorus and other petroleum-derived additives currently available.
“We are thrilled to enhance our collaboration with Solugen to develop innovative technologies that address many challenges faced by traditional water treatment methods,” stated Mike Mowbray, senior vice president of the Marketing and Technology Group at Kurita America. “This partnership will greatly strengthen our existing Creating Shared Value (CSV) initiative, which aids customers in reaching their sustainability objectives.”
Kurita’s CSV initiative, one of the company’s fastest-growing areas, emphasizes products, technologies, and business models that conserve water, reduce CO2 emissions, and decrease industrial waste while boosting customer plant productivity.
A recently launched product line is the Tower NG series of cooling solutions, which substitutes most conventional water treatment chemicals with a blend of advanced polymer technology and Solugen’s unique biodegradable corrosion inhibitor.
By utilizing innovative bio-based solutions, the Tower NG series removes reliance on traditional organo-phosphonates while delivering comparable or superior results for controlling deposits and corrosion.
“Kurita’s shared vision of promoting sustainability through innovative solutions makes them an excellent partner for increasing the adoption of Solugen’s carbon-negative products,” remarked Gaurab Chakrabarti, CEO of Solugen. “We are eager to see the combined impact we will make in offering the water treatment industry decarbonized solutions that maintain high performance.”
