Ecolab opens WWTP on Shell Jurong Island, Singapore to advance water solutions.

Aligned with the Singapore Green Plan 2030, Nalco Water, a water brand under Ecolab, has inaugurated a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) at Shell Jurong Island (JI) in Singapore.

Operational since earlier this year, the plant is specifically engineered to manage variable bio-treater wastewater. It incorporates Ecolab’s ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) membrane system and boasts nearly complete automation.

With the capability to process and recycle up to 24,000m3 of wastewater monthly, the facility aids Shell in advancing its commitment to responsible water usage.

Gregory Lukasik, Senior Vice President and Market Head of South East Asia, views this initiative as a testament to the idea that “sustainability and business performance can go hand in hand.”

“By focusing on water at an enterprise level, companies can identify opportunities that meet both their sustainability and business goals,” said Lukasik. “Aligned with Ecolab’s focus on saving 300 billion gallons of water by 2030, we are proud to support our valued customers in promoting responsible water consumption and contributing to Singapore’s sustainable future.”
