Aquatech Acquires Metichem, Expanding Comprehensive Lifecycle Water Services Capabilities Across MENA and Southeast Asia

Aquatech has officially announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Metito Chemical Solutions, now rebranded as Metichem, an Aquatech company. This integration combines advanced water treatment technologies, specialized chemicals, operational and maintenance expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence, helping clients operate with confidence and achieve their environmental and operational objectives. By merging Aquatech’s extensive global project experience with Metichem’s strong local presence, the two entities can provide more comprehensive water lifecycle solutions throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia. Both companies share a long-standing legacy of success in these regions, having completed significant projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia.

Together, they offer customers an expanded portfolio that includes treatment technologies, specialty chemicals, operations and maintenance services, and digital solutions designed to enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability throughout the water lifecycle. On July 30th, just before finalizing the acquisition, over 300 employees from three continents gathered to celebrate Metichem’s integration into Aquatech and to herald the new growth phase for the combined entity. This milestone coincides with Aquatech’s 45th anniversary, adding further significance to the occasion.

“Today signifies the conclusion of one chapter and the commencement of an exciting new journey. Our presence here is a testament to the commitment of our team, and I extend my gratitude to the Aquatech team for embracing us as partners in this venture. Together, we are establishing a robust foundation for the future, and I eagerly anticipate embracing that future as a united team,” stated Mike Abla, Managing Director at Metichem.

This collaboration unites two organizations that share core values, complementary strengths, and a mutual dedication to serving clients. “We are excited to learn from each other, grow collectively, and provide even greater value to our clients globally,” added Devesh Sharam, CEO at Aquatech.

All existing contracts, service agreements, teams, and points of contact will remain unchanged, and both Aquatech and Metichem customers are encouraged to continue engaging with their current representatives from either company.
