Almar Water Solutions expands in Asia-Pacific region through partnership with Moya Indonesia.

Almar Water Solutions, a prominent entity in the development and management of water infrastructure and services, and a division of Jameel Environmental Services, is broadening its reach in the Asia-Pacific region through a partnership with Moya Indonesia to collaboratively enhance their water ventures throughout the area.

The initial achievement of this collaboration is Almar Water Solutions acquiring a 50% interest in Obor Infrastructure Pte. Ltd. (Obor Infrastructure).

This represents Almar Water Solutions’ second foray into urban services, following its acquisition of 50% of Aguas San Pedro in Chile in 2022. This partnership emphasizes Almar Water Solutions’ dedication to aiding local communities by establishing regional service platforms alongside local partners.

Obor Infrastructure, a holding company founded in Singapore, owns two water firms that operate water treatment facilities on Java, Indonesia, with a combined capacity of 425,000 m³/day, and plans to boost this capacity by an additional 160,000 m³/day in the near future. They provide drinking water to various districts in Greater Jakarta, which is the world’s second-largest urban area.

This partnership leverages Moya Indonesia’s vast experience and local market insights, combined with Almar Water Solutions’ global expertise in developing, financing, and managing water infrastructure and service operations.

Both parties aim to collaboratively explore opportunities throughout the Asia-Pacific region, ranging from large-scale desalination and water and wastewater treatment projects to managing urban and industrial services, as well as developing technological solutions in digitalization.

Carlos Cosín, CEO of Almar Water Solutions, stated: “The Asia-Pacific region is crucial for Almar Water Solutions, where we can add value in infrastructure management, tap into the industrial market, drive digital transformation, and offer solutions using non-conventional technologies to enhance water resource availability.

Partnering with Moya Indonesia is an honor; they are a leader in water treatment in Indonesia and a key player in the regional water sector. This agreement also reinforces our commitment to the urban water market, enhancing drinking water supply and improving the lives of millions in the region.”

As part of its regional expansion, Almar Water Solutions has also recently acquired a 70% stake in Aqualyng, a comprehensive water platform with significant expertise in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), as well as Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) projects in Australia.
