ZwitterCo and Mott Corporation partner to deliver new filtration and nutrient management solutions
ZwitterCo, which creates membranes for the most difficult wastewaters, established a multi-year, exclusive cooperation with Mott Corporation to provide wastewater solutions in North America for manure and food-waste digesters, as well as breweries and distilleries.
Mott’s acquisition of Digested Organics, ZwitterCo’s North American channel partner since 2021, prompted the news. ZwitterCo has overcome a long-standing performance constraint for membranes, which are notorious for clogging quickly and irreversibly when filtering complex waste streams.
When exposed to even modest quantities of fats, oils, and other organic compounds, traditional membranes frequently require considerable cleaning and replacement, whereas ZwitterCo’s superfiltration membranes easily regenerate performance after processing saturated organic streams.
Superfiltration is being used by innovators in industries such as agriculture, food, landfills, and bioprocessing to extract difficult-to-treat chemicals from wastewater, making it more inexpensive to reuse the water and recover nutrients and other useful goods.
