Xylem opens water pump manufacturing facility in Egypt

According to Zawya, Xylem, a pioneer in the development of cutting-edge water solutions using smart technology, has formally launched a water pump manufacturing facility in Egypt.

The facility, a joint venture between Xylem and the Egyptian Tiba Manzalawi Group, was inaugurated on Monday.

In a statement released on Monday, Egypt’s Ministry of Trade and Industry—which was in charge of officially opening the plant—stated that it will initially produce split-case centrifugal pumps and end suction pumps for an investment of 300 million Egyptian pounds ($9.7 million).

The announcement also stated that the facility’s anticipated yearly production capacity for water pumps will be between 2,000 and 4,000. The first phase of the plant takes up 4,000 square meters (sqm) of the overall 9,000 sqm space.
