£1million-Plus Investment in Nottingham-Based Alternative Fuel Hub, by Hydrogen Storage System Pioneers Luxfer Gas Cylinders

Luxfer Gas Cylinders has spent more than £1 million in a new manufacturing plant in Nottingham to enable virtual gas pipes capable of distributing hydrogen across the UK and Europe. The plant will manufacture Multiple Element Gas Containers (MEGCs), with the first units expected to be available in summer 2024.

The investment will be used to expand Luxfer’s European hydrogen capability and to help the hydrogen economy grow. Luxfer’s innovative liner manufacturing method enables them to build the most efficient cylinder geometry to optimise their MEGC designs and provide outstanding value to their customers. As the business expands, the new centre will provide more jobs at the Colwick location.
