Schneider Electric drives automation at India’s biggest single-stage wastewater treatment plant

Schneider Electric is helping the Namami Gange project by enabling the largest single-stage wastewater treatment plant in India to be sustainably automated, according to Times Tech.

Schneider Electric is spearheading the development of next-generation automation systems and sustainable energy management strategies for this state-of-the-art plant in Delhi in collaboration with SUEZ.

This cutting-edge facility, which can process 564 million liters of sewage per day, is well-positioned to meet the demands of about 30 million people living in the nation’s capital.

The plant’s design, which is in line with the Delhi Jal Board Yamuna Action Plan, intends to greatly enhance water quality and lessen river pollution.

It’s noteworthy since it’s designed to be self-sufficient, with biogas generation providing around half of its energy requirements.

Schneider Electric India’s MD & CEO, Deepak Sharma, who serves as the Zone President for Greater India, underlined the company’s dedication to sustainable water management.

He emphasized the significance of creative digital solutions in resolving India’s water problems and emphasized Schneider Electric’s contribution to the automation of this ground-breaking project.

Through collaboration with SUEZ, Schneider Electric has delivered advanced digital solutions, seamlessly integrating electrical and automation systems within the plant

Schneider Electric’s commitment to sustainability and digitization was highlighted by Arvind Kakru, Vice President of Industrial Automation for the Greater India Zone.

He emphasized that the EcoStruxure portfolio of the company is a cutting-edge solution that promotes operational dependability, sustainability, and efficiency.

With total control provided by Schneider Electric’s IoT-enabled EcoStruxure technology, the plant runs as a completely automated establishment.

Wastewater treatment is made safe, effective, and sustainable by means of cutting-edge technology such as the EcoStruxure Process Expert Automation platform, Altivar Process Drives, Altivar Soft Starters, Micom relays, Transformers, and MV & LV solutions.

Schneider Electric has provided cutting-edge digital solutions in partnership with SUEZ, seamlessly integrating the plant’s automation and electrical systems.

This improves uptime, dependability, and operational efficiency while putting an emphasis on long-term service support.

Schneider Electric’s solutions are designed to increase energy efficiency, ease the transition to sustainable energy, and aid in the decarbonization of infrastructure.

This is because Schneider Electric recognizes the critical need for clean water and the environmental impact of wastewater treatment.

The organization is still dedicated to promoting environmentally conscious behavior and sustainable practices, striving to achieve net-zero carbon emissions and guaranteeing a beneficial effect on both the environment and communities.
