Iberdrola distributed 188,753 GWh of electricity until September, up 6%, driven by the United Kingdom and Spain

Iberdrola reported a 6% increase in electricity distribution worldwide during the first nine months of the 2025 financial year, totaling 188,753 gigawatt-hours (GWh). This growth was primarily driven by a 43% increase in the United Kingdom (including contributions from Electricity North West) and a 3% rise in Spain, as stated in their report to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

This positive distribution trend, attributed to rising demand and electrification, was complemented by a production increase of  96,047 GWh globally from January to September. Notable growth was observed in Iberdrola Energía Internacional (15%), Spain (5%), and Brazil (3%). In the third quarter alone, the United Kingdom saw a 9% recovery in production from July to September.

 Technological Contributions

Significant contributions by technology included:
– Offshore wind: +33%, driven by projects in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and the United States.
– Solar energy: +41%, particularly from plants in Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other EU countries such as Portugal and Italy.

Installed Capacity and Emissions Update

As of the end of September 2025, Iberdrola’s *installed capacity* reached *57,453 megawatts (MW)*. This capacity breakdown is as follows:
– Over 40%: Onshore and offshore wind
– 22%: Hydroelectric
– 15%: Solar

Additionally, battery capacity has increased to *503 MW* (up *154%*), with developments in Australia, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Capacity by Country

Iberdrola has expanded its capacity across nearly all major regions, with the following figures:
– Spain: 32,125 MW
– United Kingdom: 3,158 MW
– United States: 10,581 MW
– Brazil: 4,167 MW
– Other countries (including Australia, Germany, Italy, and Portugal): 4,823 MW

The Group’s emissions have decreased to 57 grams of CO2 per kilowatt-hour, down from 63 grams in the same period of the 2024 financial year. Furthermore, 86% of production and 84% of installed capacity now come from clean energy sources.
