DEWA initiates pilot use of ChatGPT to improve the capabilities of Rammas, its virtual employee
After launching it in February, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced the pilot use of ChatGPT on its website through Rammas, DEWA’s virtual employee, beginning in April 2023 as part of its strategy to employ Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies across all of its operations and services.
“The wise leadership places a high value on leveraging AI technologies across all sectors.” DEWA is eager to improve the client experience by providing smart services that save them time and effort by utilizing cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions.
This contributes to the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, the Dubai 10X program, and the Smart Dubai initiative, all of which aim to create Dubai the world’s smartest and happiest city.
This is also part of our efforts to use AI in all of our services and operations in order to reduce the number of visits to our customer happiness centers and contribute to shaping a new digital future for Dubai through Digital DEWA, our digital arm, which aims to make DEWA the world’s first digital utility with autonomous systems for renewable energy and storage, as well as the expansion of the use of AI and digital services,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

Rammas has answered over seven million inquiries since its introduction in the first quarter of 2017 and will continue to do so until the end of April 2023.
ChatGPT’s superior capacity to connect with users and better understand their demands will contribute to the enhancement of its capabilities.
It will also improve its ability to learn, comprehend, and analyze consumer inquiries based on available data and facts, allowing it to react quickly and properly.
DEWA is working to enrich its services with ChatGPT. It is the first utility in the world and the first government organisation in the UAE to use this modern technology as part of its continuous efforts to enhance its leadership locally and globally.
