ACCIONA appoints to desalination on World Water Day
An international pioneer in desalination, ACCIONA, has highlighted saltwater desalination as a remedy for the lack of drinking water on the occasion of World Water Day.
Using the hashtag “#97aguademar,” the campaign, which kicks off by marking World Water Day, will continue throughout the year with a number of actions.

This effort aims to increase awareness of the fact that 97% of the water on the earth is salty, just 3% of it is fresh, and only 0.4% of it is fit for human use. Using sound water management practices to assure its availability is crucial for both the current and the future’s wellbeing.
More than 40% of the world’s population already experiences water shortages, thus ACCIONA wants to make the solution it uses every day—desalination and wastewater re-use—more visible in order to create a more sustainable future.
World Water Day is observed on March 22nd all around the world in an effort to raise awareness of the significance of this issue.
