Accenture to Invest in KETOS to Advance Water Intelligence Through Real-Time Monitoring
CKETOS is the latest company to join Accenture Ventures’ Project Spotlight, an engagement and early investment program that connects emerging technology startups with the Global 2000 to enhance the strategic capabilities of Accenture, its ecosystem partners, and its clients.
Through Accenture Ventures, Accenture has made a strategic investment in KETOS, Inc., a data intelligence company that leverages a unique technology platform to assist organisations in monitoring and addressing water efficiency and quality issues.
The newest company to join Accenture Ventures’ Project Spotlight is KETOS. This programme, which connects emerging technology startups with the Global 2000 to strengthen Accenture, its ecosystem partners, and its clients’ strategic capabilities, is an engagement and early investment programme.
Over $80 billion is spent yearly on water testing and compliance worldwide as water demand increases due to growing agricultural, industrial, and municipal processes and applications. By 2030, that figure is anticipated to soar by a startling sixfold to a stunning $475 billion, as the present approaches of assessing water quality continue to be pricy, time-consuming, and frequently ineffective.
The goal of KETOS, a company with investor backing of close to $40 million, is to address this issue by utilising robots, data science, and its software as a service (SaaS) platform to deliver affordable and real-time water quality data via a round-the-clock monitoring system.
A breakthrough with heavy metals like lead and copper as well as other components like ammonia, nitrates, sulphates, and more was made by the company when it recently expanded its offerings to create KETOS SHIELD, which monitors across more than 30 parameters. These components are crucial for determining the health and safety of drinking water.
“Water is a mission-critical issue that can create environmental crises if its value is undermined, but if managed intelligently and efficiently, it can also aid in solving for these crises and predicting others before they even occur,” said Tom Lounibos, Managing Director, Accenture Ventures.
Meena Sankaran, Founder and CEO of KETOS added, “The quest for clean water is no longer a pipe dream. Stakeholders can use KETOS to easily access water quality data in real-time and turn it into insights-driven decisions that can positively impact efficiency, operations, yield, compliance, treatment and much more.”
