Xylem Inc., a prominent global company focused on water technology and dedicated to addressing the world’s most pressing water challenges, has announced its agreement to acquire the Cornell Pump and Roper Pump businesses from Indicor for $1.46 billion.
This acquisition enhances Xylem’s capacity to cater to a wider array of critical industrial applications and aligns with its strategy to increase involvement in high-growth sectors that benefit from infrastructure investments, industrial upgrades, and rising resource demands.

The Cornell Pump and Roper Pump businesses enhance Xylem’s engagement in industrial and municipal sectors where customer needs extend beyond conventional pumping solutions. This portfolio expansion allows Xylem to better serve areas where industrial modernization and rising complexities are increasing the demand for reliability, operational continuity, and process efficiency, making specialized technologies and application knowledge more essential than ever.
These businesses introduce highly engineered pumping technologies capable of handling challenging fluids, including applications related to slurry transport, solids management, and demanding suction-lift requirements. They also contribute patented self-priming features and specialized knowledge developed across industries such as construction and mining, food and beverage, agriculture, energy, and municipal services. The businesses will be included in Xylem’s Water Infrastructure segment.
