San Ramon, CA – The 30th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) is currently underway from November 10 to 21 in Belém, the capital of Pará state in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest region. As a global leader in solar technology, LONGi is actively participating in this premier global climate conference with a comprehensive set of deliverables. The 12-day agenda is structured around six key action pillars: energy, industry, and transportation; forests, oceans, and biodiversity; agriculture and food systems; cities, infrastructure, and water resources; human and social development; and cross-cutting issues.
This year holds special significance as it marks the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement. At COP30 in Brazil, LONGi will present the theme “Green Tech for a Shared Future,” showcased through a series of events focused on climate action, biodiversity conservation, and energy transition. These activities will underscore LONGi’s leadership in technological innovation, energy equity, nature initiatives, and localized conservation efforts:
*Climate Action: LONGi will release the “2024-2025 Climate Action White Paper,” which details the company’s progress in operational emissions reduction, low-carbon transition across the value chain, and its climate action roadmap.
*Energy Equity: LONGi will participate in the completion ceremony of the UNHCR Brazil solar power donation project, demonstrating the tangible impact of green energy in enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities and advancing energy equity and sustainable development.
*Nature Positive: LONGi will unveil the 2025 Biodiversity Conservation Report, aligned with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures recommendations. This report integrates natural resource risks and opportunities into LONGi’s core strategy, showcasing its leadership in aligning with international disclosure standards.
*Local Conservation: LONGi will present its “Protect the Amazon” Rainforest Ecological Conservation Project, contributing to the preservation of one of the world’s most vital ecosystems through on-the-ground action and reaffirming the company’s commitment to ecological responsibility.
*Zero-Carbon Transition: LONGi will host the “Beyond Solar: Building a Resilient Zero-Carbon World” event, fostering in-depth discussions on the technologies, business models, and policy pathways needed to achieve a zero-carbon future.
Li Zhenguo, founder and chief technology officer of LONGi, emphasized, “The essence of climate action is a profound revolution centered on the energy system. LONGi’s mission is to make green energy an affordable, stable, and widely accessible solution for all through continuous technological breakthroughs and innovative models. We look forward to collaborating with all parties at COP30 to accelerate the realization of this zero-carbon vision.”
Since its debut at COP24 in 2018, LONGi has participated as a representative for photovoltaic enterprises in seven consecutive sessions of the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties. During this time, the company has introduced initiatives such as “Solar for Solar” and the “Climate Action White Paper,” become a global partner of the UNHCR, launched the “Zero-Carbon Life Plan for Pandas,” and played a pivotal role in advancing global sustainable development.
At COP30, LONGi will engage with partners and stakeholders worldwide to explore strategies for overcoming the energy “trilemma” over the next decade and building a resilient zero-carbon world. The company remains committed to contributing its green energy solutions to support countries in achieving their net-zero goals globally.
