Hyroad Energy Acquires Hydrogen Fuel Cell Trucks to Accelerate Deployment of Zero-Emission Commercial Fleets

Hyroad Energy, a frontrunner in hydrogen-powered transportation solutions, has acquired 113 hydrogen fuel cell trucks, along with spare parts, software platforms, and intellectual property assets, from the Nikola Corporation bankruptcy auction. This purchase will significantly enhance Hyroad’s fleet and expedite the company’s initiatives to deploy zero-emission, hydrogen-fueled trucks on a large scale.

The acquisition package encompasses vehicles, operational software, and the necessary infrastructure to operate and maintain the fleet. Hyroad plans to set up dedicated maintenance and parts facilities to ensure consistent operations.

The trucks will primarily be deployed in California, where Hyroad is advancing hydrogen refueling infrastructure to support its customers.

“This acquisition significantly advances Hyroad’s mission to provide turnkey hydrogen trucking solutions that reduce the complexity and risk typically associated with adopting zero-emission technologies,” stated Dmitry Serov, CEO and Founder of Hyroad Energy. “These trucks and the corresponding equipment and systems represent immediate capacity to put proven hydrogen fuel cell technology on the road to meet demand for zero-emission trucks.”
