Vestas unveils 950 MW of orders for US projects

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has announced today that it has secured orders for 950 MW of turbines for undisclosed projects in the US. The company’s news release did not provide further details.

These contracts bring Vestas’ total announced order intake for the third quarter of 2025 to 2,432 MW, which includes a 527-MW order from the US revealed in July.

According to the recent US Wind Energy Monitor report by Wood Mackenzie and the American Clean Power Association (ACP), “tariffs and policy uncertainty led to a 50% fall in wind turbine orders for the first half of 2025.” However, the report anticipates that demand, particularly for safe harbor orders, will recover in the second half following the July passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which “ends tax credits by 2027 and requires construction start within 12 months of the bill’s approval.”
