
AECOM has been chosen as a Design Development Partner for Sydney Water, Australia’s largest water utility, in a significant capital investment initiative aimed at transforming Greater Sydney’s water infrastructure over the next decade.
In this capacity, AECOM will contribute engineering design expertise across a diverse range of infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, reservoirs, and related facilities. This comprehensive program aligns with the New South Wales Government’s vision for a vibrant, future-ready Greater Sydney, tackling challenges related to population growth, ageing infrastructure, and environmental issues.

Sydney Water’s capital investment program outlines long-term infrastructure and operational strategies extending to 2050. Over the next decade, Sydney Water’s adaptive plan proposes an investment of approximately $34 billion. This initiative aims to mitigate the effects of population growth, ageing assets, and environmental pressures while ensuring that economic development benefits are distributed throughout communities.
