W60 motors, frequency inverters, and transformers will be integral to a large-scale pumping system in Ras Al-Khair. WEG strengthens its role as a key partner in major projects by offering a comprehensive suite of electrical solutions for the water sector in the Middle East’s Ras Al-Khair region. This supply includes high-power, high-efficiency motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and transformers, all essential for a pumping system that will deliver 1.2 million cubic meters of potable water daily through a 391 km pipeline, ensuring a dependable and continuous supply for the area.
To fulfill the requirements of this extensive project, WEG has provided 40 high-voltage W60 line motors with power ratings ranging from 1,700 kW to 9,100 kW, along with the necessary VFDs and transformers. The W60 motors are notable for their exceptional energy efficiency, durability, reliability, and low noise and vibration during operation, as well as their technical flexibility and minimal maintenance needs.
The provision of this complete electrical package—comprising motors, VFDs, and transformers—offers a strategic benefit by consolidating the entire solution under one supplier.
