Lockheed Martin and NVIDIA demonstrate AI-powered digital twin for improved predictive forecasting

Lockheed Martin and NVIDIA have developed an AI-driven Earth and Space Observing Digital Twin to enhance predictive forecasting. This innovative project aims to fuse data and detect anomalies in current environmental conditions by processing live weather data, applying AI and machine learning, and displaying global environmental conditions from various sources.
The digital twin is designed to provide a centralized approach for NOAA to visualize and fuse data from space and earth sensors, enabling more accurate initial conditions for predictive forecasting.
Using advanced technology, the project demonstrates the potential of digital twins to aid climate and weather enterprises in tackling AI and forecasting challenges. The next step for Lockheed Martin is to incorporate additional data streams into the digital twin, funded by NOAA SAE Joint Venture Partnerships for exploration purposes.
