Shell Statement Re “BP”

Shell has refuted recent claims from the Wall Street Journal indicating that the oil company is in initial discussions to acquire its British competitor, BP, as reported by Reuters.

In light of the media speculation, Shell clarified that it is not actively considering an offer for BP and confirmed that no approach has been made and no discussions have occurred regarding a potential bid.

This statement falls under Rule 2.8 of the Code, and Shell asserts that it has no plans to pursue an offer for BP, thus adhering to the restrictions outlined in Rule 2.8. Shell continues to focus on enhancing value while reducing emissions through performance, discipline, and simplification.
