Pacifico Energy Korea has entered into an agreement with three local governments to explore collaborative efforts for administrative support of its 3.2 GW offshore wind cluster project in Jundo-gun, Jeollanam-do, and to foster an offshore wind industry ecosystem in the area.
The cooperation agreement, aimed at developing the offshore wind sector and revitalizing the Daebul Industrial Complex, was signed with South Jeolla Province, Jindo County, Yeongam County, and Yuil Co., Ltd., an offshore wind equipment supplier based in the Daebul Industrial Complex.
Through this agreement, Pacifico Energy Korea intends to create a supply chain for essential equipment such as turbines, foundations, and blades, secure port sites and installation vessels, and facilitate the clustering of related industries, including the establishment of an offshore wind operation and maintenance (O&M) center.
The signing ceremony took place during the “2025 Jeollanam-do Offshore Wind Industry Expo,” organized by Jeollanam-do and the Jeonnam Wind Power Association.
“Pacifico Energy Korea is committed to identifying and expanding partnerships with local offshore wind supply chain companies to advance the 3.2 GW Jindo Offshore Wind Project Cluster and enhance Jeollanam-do’s offshore wind industry,” stated Seung-Ho Choe, Representative Director of Pacifico Energy Korea.
“Beginning with this agreement with Yuil, Pacifico Energy Korea will gradually establish partnerships with local suppliers in Jeollanam-do, continuing to support the province’s offshore wind industry growth in the Asia-Pacific market.”
The Jindo offshore wind project comprises three wind farms with a total capacity of 3.2 GW, enough to supply electricity to three million households.
The first phase, the 420 MW Myeong Ryang Offshore Wind, is currently in the process of obtaining a power generation business license.
The second phase, the 990 MW Manho Offshore Wind, and the third phase, the 1.8 GW Jindo Baram Offshore Wind, have completed wind resource assessments and are preparing for the power generation business license process.
