KSB’s new high-pressure pump delivers energy efficiency with flexibility.

The KSB Group has  launched the first size of its newly designed high-pressure MultiTec Plus pump series, specifically size 150, to the market.

These pumps are specifically engineered for the transportation of drinking water, prioritizing optimal hydraulic efficiency. They are paired with highly efficient synchronous reluctance motors and variable speed systems from the PumpDrive series, resulting in minimal energy consumption and a reduced carbon footprint. The variable speed systems automatically adjust the pump output to meet actual demand, preventing any energy wastage.

Additionally, the KSB Guard monitoring system can track the pumps’ performance by measuring temperature and vibration data, transmitting this information to the KSB Cloud in real-time. If any anomalies or deviations from normal operation are detected, the system alerts users to facilitate timely maintenance planning and minimize downtime.

MultiTec Plus pumps are designed to withstand a casing pressure of 25 bar, achieving a maximum head of nearly 250 meters and a flow rate of up to 470 m³/h. They are powered exclusively by four-pole three-phase motors. In comparison to higher-speed pump sets with smaller nominal diameters, these new pumps operate at 1450 (50 Hz) or 1750 (60 Hz) rotations per minute, achieving the same maximum flow rate while operating much more quietly. Their lower rotational speeds contribute to reduced wear, positively affecting both the pump set’s service life and efficiency. Energy efficiency, durability, and low noise levels are crucial in the water industry.

The maximum fluid temperature should not exceed 60 °C. The diffuser transition areas are safeguarded against wear with casing wear rings. The configuration of the suction and discharge nozzles can be customized to meet customer specifications, enhancing the pumps’ versatility and installation flexibility.

The pump sets come in various designs, including horizontal and vertical installation options with different bearing configurations. Built robustly and featuring flow-optimized hydraulic systems alongside easily replaceable wear parts, MultiTec Plus ensures high operational reliability with low energy and maintenance costs. Self-adjusting plain bearings made of silicon carbide and advanced axial thrust balancing contribute to exceptional operational reliability.
