High Performance in Every Drop: Filtralite® at Bedřichov Plant

Filtralite® Pure features a uniquely porous structure that optimizes water flow through the filter bed, significantly enhancing contaminant retention. Thanks to the properties of its lightweight expanded clay composition, this media increases the available contact surface, enabling higher water volumes to be filtered within the same footprint.

Project Overview

The Bedřichov Drinking Water Treatment Plant, located in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic, supplies high-quality drinking water to over 100,000 inhabitants. In 2022, the plant underwent a major modernization to meet stricter water quality requirements and improve operational efficiency.

Challenge

The existing sand filtration system was no longer sufficient to meet the growing demands and quality standards. A more efficient and sustainable filtration solution was needed to improve performance and reduce operational costs.

Solution

The plant replaced its conventional sand media with Filtralite® Pure HC 2.5–5, an advanced filter media made from expanded clay. This upgrade enabled the plant to significantly enhance its filtration capacity while maintaining excellent water quality.
