H2O Innovation has acquired Lama Sistemas de Filtrados S.L. Unipersonal, a manufacturer of water filtration systems based in Spain. This acquisition is the company’s 20th in 25 years and enhances its presence in the membrane filtration sector.
Established in 1948 in Sevilla, Spain, Lama specializes in backwashable filters designed for the removal of suspended solids. The company provides a diverse range of products, from manual to fully automated systems, catering to municipal, industrial, and agricultural sectors. By integrating Lama’s product offerings, H2O Innovation will enhance the pretreatment solutions available to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and engineering firms for ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis systems.
Under H2O Innovation’s Specialty Products division, the Piedmont® brand is dedicated to reverse osmosis pretreatment. The technologies developed by Lama are anticipated to enrich this product line by introducing filtration solutions applicable to ultrafiltration.
This acquisition signifies H2O Innovation’s 20th purchase in 25 years and expands its portfolio in the membrane filtration industry.
“Lama’s extensive knowledge in backwashable filtration systems makes it an ideal addition to our components and consumables business,” stated Frédéric Dugré, President and CEO of H2O Innovation. “This acquisition solidifies our leadership in the global desalination supply chain and enhances the solutions we provide to customers around the world.”
All 40 employees of Lama will continue with the company after the acquisition.
