Enphase Energy, Inc., a global leader in energy technology and the world’s foremost supplier of microinverter-based solar and battery systems, has unveiled the opening of U.S. pre-orders for its groundbreaking IQ9N-3P™ Commercial Microinverter. This product represents Enphase’s inaugural microinverter utilizing gallium nitride (GaN) technology, specifically tailored for three-phase 480Y/277 V (wye) grid configurations without the need for external transformers. Engineered to streamline design, lower installation and system costs, and enhance efficiency for commercial solar projects, the IQ9N-3P leverages GaN technology to deliver faster switching, cooler operation, and superior long-term reliability compared to traditional silicon-based solutions. With an industry-leading efficiency of 97.5%, it supports solar panels up to 600 W, manages continuous DC currents of 16 amperes, and provides up to 427 VA of peak output power.
The IQ9N-3P is equipped with advanced features such as rapid shutdown, phase balancing, voltage and frequency ride-through, and loss-of-phase detection, ensuring compliance with stringent grid safety standards like UL 1741-SB and IEEE 1547-2018. Its flexible design makes it ideal for both small-scale systems under 100 kW and larger installations scaling into hundreds of kW. Additionally, it enables panel-level energy optimization in shaded or uneven conditions, enhancing performance in complex commercial rooftop environments with obstructions or multi-tenant layouts. By converting DC to AC at each panel, the system eliminates high-voltage DC runs, creating a safer all-AC rooftop architecture. Asset owners benefit from reduced long-term operational costs, simplified replacement, and per-panel monitoring via the Enphase® App.
Manufactured with domestic content in U.S. facilities, the IQ9N-3P qualifies projects for federal domestic content bonus tax credits and adheres to the Buy America and Build America, Buy America Acts, making it eligible for federal infrastructure initiatives. The microinverter integrates with the IQ® Gateway Commercial Pro, serving as the system’s communication and control hub. This gateway facilitates real-time monitoring, energy management, firmware updates, and advanced grid services with versatile connectivity options.
Enphase supports the IQ9N-3P Commercial Microinverter with a 25-year limited warranty, while the IQ Gateway Commercial Pro comes with a 15-year warranty. Pre-orders are now available through Enphase’s distribution partners, with production shipments slated to commence in December 2025. The company will showcase the IQ9N-3P, IQ Gateway Commercial Pro, and other innovations—including its 4th-generation Enphase Energy System featuring the IQ® Battery 10C, IQ® Combiner 6C, IQ® Meter Collar, IQ® EV Charger 2, and IQ® PowerPack 1500 portable energy system—at RE+ 2025, held from September 8–11, 2025, in Las Vegas.
