ACCIONA will showcase its leadership in desalination during the 2022 IDA World Congress

The International Desalination Association will host the 2022 IDA World Congress in Sydney (Australia) from October 9–13 of this year, and ACCIONA will be there.

Key participants from the desalination and water reuse sectors will participate in the five days of technical sessions, conferences, roundtables, workshops, and interactive sessions that make up the Congress.

In light of the rising demand for water and challenges to water security, issues pertaining to solutions in the domains of desalination and water reuse will be considered during the Congress.

Desalination and water reuse will play a crucial part in tackling future water concerns, according to the Congress theme, “Charting resilient water solutions.”

ACCIONA will actively participate in the event with a booth of its own and speakers at several colloquia.

On a panel on the outcomes and success stories of PPPs in the water sector, José Diaz-Caneja, Director-General of ACCIONA’s Water Division, will participate.

The Congress theme, “Charting resilient water solutions” will emphasise the major role of both desalination and water reuse in addressing the future challenges related to water

The seminars headed “Success stories of desalination plants and advancements in their processes” and “Power and efficiency of combined floatation-filtration re-treatment systems for seawater desalination” will both include R&D+I Director Jorge Malfeito as a presenter.

The sessions titled “Desalination to relieve the Australian drought,” “Start-up of O&M; maintenance challenges,” and “Studies on the performance of sulfuric acid shocks in reverse osmosis membranes” will all feature Javier Artal, Operations Manager of the Adelaide desalination plant in South Australia.

He will also discuss the 284,000 cubic meters per day capacity Umm Al Houl desalination facility operated by ACCIONA in Qatar.

Cliff Stone, Business and Operations Manager for Southeast Asia and Australia, will discuss digital methods and initiatives for the desalination supply in the panel discussion “Big data and data monitoring in desalination.”
