ACCIONA, a worldwide leader in sustainable solutions, was recognized as the top company in the Construction and Engineering category for the third straight year in the annual Valor 1000 ranking published by Valor Econômico. The awards ceremony took place on September 8 at Hotel Unique in São Paulo. ACCIONA also appeared among the best-performing and biggest organizations in its sector in Brazil’s Southeast region.
The honor reflects ACCIONA’s ongoing growth in the country. Its key initiatives include São Paulo Metro Line 6–Orange, the largest infrastructure undertaking in Latin America, supported by an investment of more than R$19 billion. The line will span 15.3 kilometers, include 15 stations, and, upon completion, is projected to serve up to 633,000 passengers per day. ACCIONA will manage operations for 19 years.
ACCIONA is also strengthening its role in water and sanitation. In Pernambuco, ACCIONA, working with BRK Ambiental, signed an agreement to deliver water supply and sanitary sewerage services. This initiative adds to existing public-private partnership programs for sanitary sewerage in 48 municipalities across Paraná and for urban sanitation in eight municipalities in Espírito Santo.
More recently, ACCIONA secured another public-private partnership to provide sanitation services in 85 municipalities in Paraíba, reaching an estimated 1.7 million residents. Planned investment amounts to R$3 billion, and the contract is set to last 25 years.
In addition, the company was hired by the City of São Paulo to construct the roadway section between Avenida Jornalista Roberto Marinho and Rodovia dos Imigrantes, part of a major corridor linking the capital to the coast of São Paulo state.
Operating in Brazil since 1997, ACCIONA has completed prominent projects such as Terminal 2 at the Port of Açu in Rio de Janeiro and the revitalization of the historic Júlio Prestes Station in São Paulo into a world-class concert venue.
