United Utilities announces 13 more partners for record investment proposals.

United Utilities has revealed additional partners for two new frameworks as it gears up for the most significant investment in water and wastewater infrastructure in the North West in a century. While awaiting regulatory approval for its proposals, the North West’s water company has selected 13 new partners for its network modeling and specialized design and development frameworks.

After a competitive bidding process, AtkinsRéalis, Jacobs, Stantec, Binnies, Mott MacDonald, RPS, and WSP have been chosen to provide modeling support for water and wastewater infrastructure.

Additionally, United Utilities has appointed Aqua Consultants Limited, GHD, Long O’Donnell Associates Limited, Metis Consultants Limited, Ove Arup & Partners Limited, and SYSTRA Limited as their six specialist design development partners.

This framework requires these partners to focus on converting solutions into practical and effective design outputs for detailed design and construction, build-only, and rainwater management projects.

Jane Simpson, Capital Delivery Director at United Utilities, stated:

“We are delighted to have selected 13 more partners across these two crucial frameworks.

“Our new network modeling partners will assist us in making informed choices regarding operations and capital investment initiatives by monitoring rivers, catchment areas, and coastal infrastructure to identify opportunities for enhancing our services and addressing future supply needs.

“The specialist design development partners will create natural solutions in collaboration with our engineering teams and partners. We will depend on their extensive design expertise to foster innovative, nature-based solutions, including rainwater management strategies.

“These partners, alongside those already appointed, will be vital in helping us realize our ambitious proposals.”
