SWPC announces Preferred Bidder for Jubail – Buraydah IWTP.

The Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) has revealed the Preferred Bidder and Reserve Bidder for the Jubail – Buraydah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) Project.

SWPC has designated the consortium comprising Aljomaih Energy & Water Company, Nesma Company, and Buhur for Investment Company as the Preferred Bidder. This consortium proposed a Levelized cost of SAR 3.59468 per cubic meter.

Additionally, SWPC has announced the Reserve Bidder, which is the consortium of Vision International Investment Company and TAQA, with a Levelized cost of SAR 5.04214 per cubic meter.

The Jubail-Buraidah IWTP will be the first water transmission pipeline to connect the Eastern and Qassim Regions, delivering potable water with private sector involvement.

This pipeline will feature a transmission capacity of 650,000 m³/day and span 587 km, allowing for bi-directional water flow. It will also include significant water storage capabilities, with a total capacity of 1,634,500 m³, enhancing the region’s water infrastructure and ensuring a reliable supply of drinking water.

The project will be executed under a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model for a duration of 35 years from the anticipated start of commercial operations in the first quarter of 2029.This IWTP initiative supports the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives for sustainable water resource management and the delivery of high-quality, affordable water services.
