SWPC announces preferred bidder for 600,000 m3/day Jubail 4 and Jubail 6 IWP.

The Saudi Water Partnerships Company (SWPC) is excited to share that it has successfully completed the evaluation of private sector bids for the Jubail 4 and Jubail 6 Independent Water Plant (IWP) project. Located in the eastern province south of Jubail, this initiative will provide a potable water production capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per day (m³/day).

The private sector will develop and manage the project for a period of 25 years, starting from the anticipated commercial operation date in the first quarter of 2028.

The project’s scope includes the construction of an electrical substation linked to the main power source through a transmission line. This infrastructure will facilitate the operations of the water plants and ensure their efficient integration with the Jubail Water Transmission Complex.

After reviewing the bids, SWPC is pleased to announce the preferred bidder for the Jubail 4 and Jubail 6 Independent Water Plant:

Preferred Bidder: ACWA Power, Haji Abdullah Alireza & Partners Company, and AlSharif Contracting and Commercial Development consortium. This consortium presented a highly competitive Levelized Cost of SAR 1.8206 per cubic meter (SAR/m³).

This project represents a continuation of the collaborative efforts between public and private sectors in water production within the Kingdom, aligning with the National Water Strategy.

This strategy aims to tackle critical challenges and reform the water and wastewater sector to ensure sustainable water resource development while emphasizing the importance of providing high-quality services at affordable prices, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
