Jacobs Bags $800 Mln Infrastructure Upgrade Contract For King County Wastewater.

Jacobs has been appointed to oversee an $800 million upgrade to the infrastructure of the King County Wastewater Treatment Division.The enhancements aim to improve water quality and system resilience for approximately two million residents in Seattle and the central Puget Sound area.

Leveraging its extensive experience with large-scale infrastructure projects, Jacobs will manage the South Treatment Plant Facility Program from its inception through the design, construction, and commissioning phases.

The South Treatment Plant, located in Renton, is a crucial facility in King County’s wastewater management, processing an average of 115 million gallons of wastewater daily during wet weather and 96 million gallons per day in dry conditions.

The site also includes educational programs and the CitySoil demonstration farm, which produces around 4,000 pounds of food annually for a local food bank.
