Innova is thrilled to announce the establishment of a 15-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between Anglian Water and ISG Renewables, a joint venture involving Innova and Schroders Greencoat, for the 27.8MW Elms Farm solar project.
This agreement will supply Anglian Water with traceable renewable energy, aiding their goal of sourcing up to 50% of their energy from renewable sources and achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2030.
EDF will provide power balancing and shaping services, collaborating with both parties to ensure a dependable renewable energy supply to Anglian Water through their licensed supplier, SSE.
Currently under construction, Elms Farm is expected to begin operations later this year. Once operational, it will generate approximately 29,000 MWh of electricity annually, all of which will be delivered to Anglian Water throughout the 15-year PPA. This agreement has been vital for the project’s financial closure and for facilitating its construction.
Andy Peyman, Head of Energy Sales at Innova, stated:“We are pleased to have partnered with Anglian Water on this PPA, especially during such challenging times in the energy sector. The PPA was essential for advancing the site, and we eagerly anticipate bringing the solar farm online in the coming months. We appreciate Anglian Water’s dedication to this agreement and thank EDF for their support in balancing and shaping.”
David Riley, Head of Carbon Neutrality at Anglian Water, remarked:“Anglian Water is dedicated to becoming a carbon-neutral organization for the benefit of our customers and the environment in our region. The combined skills of Innova, EDF, SSE, and the Anglian Water team have made it possible to finalize this innovative renewable energy structure, paving the way for the newly constructed Elms Farm solar asset, which is crucial for meeting our ambitious carbon targets.”
Tom Abbott, Director of PPA at EDF, added:“We are excited to have assisted Innova and Anglian Water in facilitating this new corporate PPA. It is rewarding to contribute to the development of new renewable energy projects, as agreements like this are crucial for making it happen and for the UK’s journey toward net zero.”
