GHD, a prominent global professional services firm, has secured a new contract to deliver design services for Wessex Water’s PR24 capital program.
This engagement includes a wide range of services such as optioneering, feasibility assessments, both preliminary and detailed design, construction support, and continuous assistance to Wessex Water’s design teams during the eighth asset management (AMP8) regulatory period, which spans from 2025 to 2030.
Residents and communities in the south-west of England will gain from GHD’s collaboration with Wessex Water. The focus of GHD’s initiatives will be on reducing storm overflow and leakage, improving water quality, safeguarding biodiversity, and enhancing the resilience of the water infrastructure.
Wessex Water, which serves over 2.8 million customers, intends to invest £3.7 billion during this timeframe, representing the largest investment since the water sector was privatized in 1989.
As a reliable partner in the water sector, GHD contributes extensive expertise to this collaboration. The contract is set for an initial duration of six years, with the possibility of extending for up to five additional years, reflecting GHD’s long-term dedication to developing resilient and digital water solutions.
