The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has revealed that it received eight proposals for the construction of the Ghafat Idah Reservoir Complex Pumping Station (PS6) and the Endurance Road Pumping Station (PD21) Phase 1, Stream A project, which has a capacity of 30 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD).
This tender, released on August 12, 2024, attracted interest from various firms, including Binghalib Technology, Danway Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Torishima Pump Manufacturing Co., Emarat Aloula Contracting Co., Green Oasis General Contracting Co., Gulf Contracting and Landscaping, Kalpataru Projects International, and Al Sawaed Al Qafelah General Contracting.
The bids submitted varied between AED 85 million ($23 million) and AED 247 million ($67 million), with contractors offering proposals for either or both pumping stations. The bidding period officially concluded on November 7, 2024.
The project, expected to last 24 months, will emphasize advanced electro-mechanical tasks and the incorporation of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. These components are essential for achieving operational efficiency and improved management of the pumping stations.
