AF Gruppen has entered into a contract with the City of Oslo to build a new water treatment facility at Huseby, a crucial component of the city’s New Water Supply initiative. This development follows the announcement on October 19, 2022, when AF Gruppen was chosen for a partnership agreement with Oslo’s Water and Sewage Department.
Now in its second phase, the project is moving from planning and design to detailed design and construction. This collaborative effort includes the City of Oslo, AF Gruppen, and the design firm Multiconsult. The primary construction activities will occur within the mountain facility at Huseby.
AF Gruppen’s responsibilities encompass groundwork, concrete work, process systems, dosing and sludge facilities, as well as electrical installations. Construction is already in progress and is set to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2027. The contract’s value is approximately NOK 7.6 billion (excluding VAT).
“We are honored to be given this critical project for Oslo. Providing a safe and dependable water supply for the city’s residents is a duty we take very seriously, and we look forward to ongoing collaboration with the City of Oslo,” stated Amund Tøftum, CEO of AF Gruppen.
