Anglian Water has initiated the procurement process for a Programme Delivery Partner (PDP) to assist in delivering its capital investments over the next fifteen years.
This effort will commence with the company’s largest business plan for Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8), spanning 2025 to 2030, which, pending Ofwat approval in December, is projected to be valued at £10 billion.
The £1 billion contract, expected to extend until the conclusion of AMP10 in 2040, will establish a partnership with Anglian Water to enhance its entire investment program, focusing on innovative delivery for both customers and the environment.
Key projects will include the construction of two new reservoirs in the Fens and Lincolnshire, along with all capital initiatives outlined in the upcoming business plan.
This contract represents one of the largest of its kind in the water sector, offering a distinctive opportunity for a strategic partner to engage across Anglian Water’s extensive capital investment program. The PDP will collaborate closely with Anglian Water to implement this program and its subsequent business plans for the next decade.
Andy Alder, Managing Director for Major Infrastructure Delivery, stated: “For over twenty years, we have prioritized collaboration in our delivery strategy through our leading alliancing models, and we’re eager to elevate this with our new strategic partnership.
“We understand that collaborative efforts throughout the value chain enhance consistency, efficiency, and innovation, ensuring we provide the best value for our customers while safeguarding the environment.
“This Programme Delivery Partner will facilitate the implementation of this approach across our entire capital program, which is crucial for executing what is anticipated to be our largest investment in the region.”
The company is issuing its full call for competition today, with shortlisted candidates moving into the comprehensive tender phase early next year, and the contract is expected to be awarded in summer 2025.
