AECOM has named Jill Hudkins as the chief executive of its newly established Water & Environment Advisory global business line. This decision is a significant element of AECOM’s growth strategy, which aims to utilize its technical knowledge and robust client relationships to develop complementary, high-value enterprises.
The newly formed Water & Environment Advisory division will assist clients in navigating intricate water and environmental management issues.
It will leverage AECOM’s recognized expertise in water management, environmental engineering, and environmental science, fields in which the company has consistently been ranked first by Engineering-News Record. The focus will be on high-growth sectors like digital water asset management, environmental permitting, PFAS remediation, and advanced water solutions.
Troy Rudd, AECOM’s CEO, expressed excitement about Hudkins’ appointment, emphasizing that her experience and leadership are vital for the company’s objective of enhancing its water capabilities over the next five years. Rudd remarked, “Jill’s leadership, coupled with our commitment to investing in essential resources, lays the groundwork for achieving similar success in this new business line.”
Hudkins, formerly President at Tetra Tech, brings more than 25 years of experience in water, environment, and sustainable infrastructure. She was instrumental in promoting digital applications and data analytics at Tetra Tech, contributing to the rapid expansion of its Digital Water practice.
Lara Poloni, AECOM’s president, underscored Hudkins’ qualifications, stating, “With Jill leading us, we will assemble a world-class team and platform that will redefine the future of environmental and water management through innovative, knowledge-based solutions.”
Hudkins holds advanced degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from MIT and Duke University and is a member of the University of Miami’s College of Engineering Academic Review Committee.
